Hello!

We are thrilled to welcome you as a mentor in our mentorship programs housed in the Ilitch School Career Services Office, where you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the professional journey of our talented undergraduate business students. Thank you for generously sharing your expertise and time with us. Your guidance is essential in helping shape the next generation of business leaders.

About the Program:
The CMP and ACE programs are designed to provide students with real-world business insights, professional development, and networking opportunities. By participating as a mentor, you will help our students navigate their academic and career paths while offering valuable advice on topics ranging from leadership and communication to career choices and industry trends.

Mentor Expectations and Responsibilities:
As a mentor, your role is to offer support, share your experiences, and provide guidance as our students work toward achieving their personal and professional goals. Specifically, we encourage mentors to:

  • Meet with students regularly (at least once a month).
  • Offer insights into career development and professional growth.
  • Help students set actionable career goals and provide constructive feedback.
  • Answer any student questions using your professional knowledge.

Program Structure:
Mentor registration will be from May – August. The mentorship programs will run from September – April.  We will host key events throughout this period, such as orientations, meet-and-greet events, mid-program check-ins, and a Mentor and Mentee breakfast celebration. You will be notified of these events well in advance.

Support and Resources:
We understand the time commitment involved in mentoring, and we are here to support you every step of the way. Our team will provide mentorship resources, as well as guidance on how to navigate the program effectively.

Communication and Meeting Frequency:
We encourage open communication with your mentee. You are free to decide the best mode and frequency of communication—whether through email, phone, or video calls. Typically, we suggest meeting once a month, but you may adjust this based on your schedule.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our Mentor Program Administrators for our respective programs:

Noor Jawad, CMP Program Administrator – CMPMentorship@wayne.edu

Bianca Fielder, ACE Program Administrator – ACEMentorship@wayne.edu

We are truly excited about the impact you will have on our students and are looking forward to a rewarding mentorship experience for both you and your mentee. Thank you once again for being a part of the Ilitch School mentorship programs and for investing in the future of our business students.
