Supporting First-Generation Success, Together

The Corporate Mentor Program (CMP), powered by Ally, is designed to support undergraduate first-generation business students at Wayne State University, Mike Ilitch School of Business. First-generation college students are defined as students whose parent(s) or guardian(s) have not completed a four-year college degree. This program pairs students (mentees) with employers (mentors) who are committed to guiding students along their journey. From academic assistance to career planning and personal support, CMP is designed to empower students to thrive at Wayne State University and beyond.

Ilitch Business students have an opportunity to be matched with a professional corporate mentor and work one-on-one throughout the entire academic year. Students and mentors will fill out the associated forms to determine each of their long-term career interests and goals in order to get matched together to help students move their interests forward, expose them to the day-to-day world of work, and other professional opportunities for success after college.
