Make Suitable Part of Your Mentorship Experience

Suitable can also help you reflect on your development with your mentor.

As you complete activities and build career-readiness competencies, consider sharing what you are learning during your mentor conversations.

You may discuss:

  • A competency you have strengthened recently
  • An experience that challenged you or helped you grow
  • A skill you would like to continue developing
  • An activity or opportunity your mentor recommends exploring
  • How your experiences connect to your academic or career goals

For Mentors

Suitable is an optional platform available to mentees in the Ilitch School Mentorship Program. Mentors are not required to download Suitable, complete activities, or earn points. However, mentors can help mentees make the most of their experience by encouraging reflection on the skills and competencies they are developing.

Consider asking your  mentee:

  • What experiences have you completed recently
  • Which career-readiness competencies are you developing most?
  • Is there a competency you would like to strengthen?
  • What experience could help you continue building that skill?
